Alan Laycock, owner of British American Restorations, is a charming, friendly Englishman who has been in the woodworking, home and furniture restoration business for the past 35 years.  He works in the Hudson Valley on a wide assortment of projects such as floors, fireplace mantels, staircases, antique and modern furniture restoration, and original custom-made pieces.

Specializing in Victorian home and Farmhouse restoration, he excels at the rare artistry of restoring or recreating antique molding, windows and doors as well as wooden floors — including tongue and groove oak or pine flooring and new floors from exotic and reclaimed wood.

Alan learned his trade from his father and also from a trade school in England.  After 12 years in California, Alan landed in the Hudson Valley.  His clients include doctors, lawyers, celebrities and the average homeowner alike.  While he and his team have worked in art galleries, recording studios, professional offices, embassies and well-known estates, their work for the average homeowner is equally first-class in all cases – no matter the project or the budget.
